panorama

I went on a hike to 10,000 feet and the top of a little mountain in Rocky Mountain National Park on Wednesday. John and I had done the hike two weeks ago, but I had neglected to take my camera that time. John is off visiting his family in California, so I decided to repeat the hike with the camera. At the top there is a grand view of the peaks in the park. Below is my first attempt at the very cool panorama function of the Sony A33 (click on the picture to see a much larger image). You might have to scroll to see the entire image, since I didn't want to clip it too much and ruin the effect.

two four

Note - I re-read this a few days after I wrote it and almost deleted it. It's a little sentimental for my ordinary tastes. Admittedly, it is the result of a combination of listening to Brandi Carlile and taking Xanax for the first time and the bad decision to add in a glass of wine. Still. I do have a sentimental side and now and then I have to let it have it's day in blog.

two four

it used to be
we planted a small tree
in front
and the wind blew
and all we heard was the wind blowing
and then
the tree grew and
the wind blew
and I heard a chorus of leaves in the wind

it used to be
there were two of us
and the wind blew
and I heard the wind
and then
things happened
four
and then
our children grew
and the wind blew
and now
I hear
a symphony in the wind
